If you have any of these foods, check the bag for the “Best By” date.  The dates affected are Dec 9th, 2012 through April 7th, 2012.   The production code for the affected products will have a 2 or a 3 in the 9th position and an “X” in the 10th position:
Signs of salmonella in our pets include:  vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration.  Some pets will show no signs, but will still pass the bacterium in their feces.  If your pet is showing any signs, please contact your veterinarian for treatment.
There have been purported connections between the pet food and human illnesses as reported by the CDC.  When handling any pet food, it is always best to wash your hands after feeding the pets and wash food bowls often.  Keep small children away from the pet’s bowls as well.
