Instead of replacing the damaged ligament, TTA changes the mechanics of the knee by advancing the tibial tuberosity—the front portion of the shin bone where the patellar ligament attaches. This adjustment changes the angle of the patellar ligament, allowing the knee to function normally without relying on the torn ligament for stability.
